After graduating from Davis I relocated with my family back to the Southern California area where I have practiced Small animal medicine for the past 27 years.

After accumulating varying experiences as a small animal practitioner I thought it was time to acquire my own practice. After much research I was fortunate enough to become the owner of La Verne Animal Hospital in 1992. It has been my pleasure to have become acquainted with many of the families in La Verne and surrounding communities and to be able to provide a high quality of care for their family pets.

Through my experiences at La Verne Small Animal Hospital I have acquired a special interest in internal medicine and have developed an expertise in procedures such as stifle stabilization of cranial cruciate rupture in dogs.

Our mission statement at La Verne Small Animal Hospital is to provide the best health care for our patients through the dedication of our doctors and staff. Also when and if necessary to refer our patients and their families to highly trained and qualified specialist in southern California to achieve the best possible outcome for our patients.

I grew up in Taiwan where numerous homeless dogs and cats still roam the street. Jerome was my first rescue dog. Together we had to fight through emaciation, severe parasitic infections, Parvo infection, and later on endless allergic skin problems. It made me realize how much more help I could be to the stray animals if I had knowledge in veterinary medicine.

I wanted to have the best training, so I came to the USA in 1990. I did my pre-vet and eventually went to vet school in Illinois.

Upon graduation in 1997, I came to California for my internship and fell in love with the sunny weather here. I moved back to Taiwan in 1999 to start my task of what prompted me into veterinary medicine—helping stray animals. My friends and I founded Caring for Stray Animal Society. Our organization helped the first official animal shelter in Taiwan establish their adoption program. I helped with spay/neutering, providing medical care, and fostering recently recovered patients. It was the most rewarding yet heart-breaking experience of my life. Needless to say that I got burnt out after three years and had to move back to the USA to save my sanity.

I am very lucky to have found La Verne Animal Hospital where quality medicine is practiced and patients are treated like our own pets. What I like the most about my team members is that every one is an animal lover. It is not just a job to them. They are here to make a difference. It is such a pleasure to work with people sharing the same belief.
